Glass Options

America Italiana offers several glass options. We can help you choose the right glazing for your windows from a wide selection of products.

The introduction of layers of noble metals as a low-emissive coating for glass reduces heat irradiation by reducing thermal dispersions to half that of traditional double glazing. If noble gases (argon/krypton), especially those which are heavier than air, are used to fill the hollow space of the glass, heat exchanges through conduction and convection are reduced, thus obtaining an energy consumption which is a third of that of standard double-glazing.

Triple Glazing options are also available.

Insulated Glass/ Low E2 Glass
Double or Triple glass panes filled with argon gas between the panes of glass to reduce heat transfer and improves insulating properties

Laminated/Safety Glass
Laminated glass is a type of safety glass that holds together when shattered. In the event of breaking, it is held in place by an interlayer, typically of polyvinyl butyral (PVB), between its two or more layers of glass.

Noise Reduction Glass
Noise pollution is one of the biggest source of stress, which can compromise physical wellbeing both during the day and at night, by causing disorders, especially psychological, and reducing the capacity to concentrate.
Acoustically insulating glazing can help keep noise outside so you can enjoy your living space in peace and quiet

Tempered Glass
A type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass, and does not break into sharp shards when it fails

Selective/ 4 Seasons
The selective glass is a glass capable of filtering the sun rays, reducing the transmission of their heat
on the interior of the buildings, keeping under control the spread of heat for irradiation.
This type of glazing ensures excellent thermal insulation by controlling the heat transmitted of the solar irradiation and offers superior energy performance.

Security Glass/Hammer Proof/ Bullet Proof Glass
Glass that protects against burglary, vandalism, shooting, unauthorized entry.

Frosted
Often you need to preserve privacy in areas of the house such as the bathroom. In these cases it is often used the frosted glass, sandblasted or printed, depending on the degree of opacity and of the aesthetic effect that the customer wants.

Warm Edge
The spacer or perimeter joint of the double-glazing is the other point where the thermal dispersion and condensation take place because of the frequent thermal bridges that form in this part of the glazing, and the aluminium usually used for the joint; different materials have recently been introduced, such as steel and plastic derivatives, whose thermal
conductivity is much lower than that of aluminium. The “warm joint or warm edge” obtained in this way reduces the perimeter thermal dispersions of the double-glazing, increases the temperature of the surface of the panes, and significantly reduces condensation: all this is very important as it increases the Uw value of the door and window frames.
